My new bad idea

Printcasting: possibly useful for documents to be printed for later reading/handouts. I don't really print much anymore but in my environment it would be nice to have a print queue that I can manage from anywhere for personal documents and articles for the car. May also be useful for ebook...

my 1.5yr old is singing his ABCs.

I'm not sure if he's young for that or not - but he's not really speaking yet (which seems to have had the dr. concerned) so it's encouraging if nothing else (and just a little bit awesome!)

I will have twitter setup on my mobile phone for festival international. If you don't have a twitter account, get oen and follow Merlin8000

As much as I prefer to use my blog for most things - this should be great for festival international.

actually getting things done

Seems to be a time of actually getting things done for the past couple of days. I've gotten my tasks done on time for my 2 major projects at work and even managed to begin my mail migration to zimbra (1 domain down, at least 2 to go.) Hopefully I can keep it rolling. In other news - there's...

Quick post about my opinion on global warming

To be frank, I think the jury's still out on a lot of the aspects of global warming - from what I've seen, I don't see that there's enough data to definitively state that the primary factors in the current climate.   With that out of the way - I want to restate something...

The strangest thing happened today

So today - against my better financial judgement, I went to lunch with a buddy and his dad to Lloyd's in downtown Baton Rouge.  I really don't go there very much - but they wanted to go so I went along.  We chatted and ate our meal - it was delivered in a decent amount of time this...

I've finally started seeing daylight in my fight with these fraud charges

I've been fighting my bank by trying to undo some charges by a company called WC *Value Plus who has been charging my account for about a year unnoticed.  Disputing the charges with my bank was pointless, the bank refused to do anything at all because it had gone on for so long. ...

I think I've decided on a language for OpenCashflow's core

I've been thinking (some) about OpenCashflow recently, and have decided to go with my instincts regarding the core's language and to use C++. I had been considering C, Java, and even C#, but the truth of the matter is that finance calculations seem to make the most sense in C++. From looking at...

Now in Mississippi.

Google maps for Palm has been good to us so far. It saved me from digging in the atlas to verify our exit.

If I take the 2 odometer readings I know and the amount of fuel i know in between, it's actually 41mpg!

I apparently had a typo in the reading for my second refuel

Filled up my car for the second time today - got a more accurate reading of 38mpg

I wasn't too sure of the first reading, but this one I've got a better idea about.

Wound up in a beginner Oracle application expess worshop
